The success story of Babtec GmbH starts in 1994 in a small office in Solingen. Twenty years later, the company with its more than 120 employees that is now developing software for quality management in Wuppertal is one of the giants of the industry. The twentieth jubilee was celebrated on December 19, 2014 at Barmer Bahnhof.
An eagerness for innovation and the sense for pioneering technology have always characterized the services of Babtec in a decisive way. In 1994, the company founder Michael Flunkert is the first software provider to implement multimedia technology for quality management. From the start, the company is a technical leader and continues to meet this challenge today. Within the shortest period of time, Babtec secured a leading position on the market for quality management software. About 1,000 renowned companies are among the customers. Zwilling J. A. Henckels, the automotive supplier L’Orange, Kneipp-Werke, Grohe, Fresenius Medical Care Deutschland and many others secure the quality of their processes and products with software from Wuppertal.
The founding team of four members has grown into a state-of-the-art software house with more than 120 employees at four locations. At the headquarters in Wuppertal, in Villingen-Schwenningen in the south of Germany, in Dresden as well as in Wels in Austria, highly qualified specialists are active in the special fields of quality management, software development, IT project management and IT consulting. To continue the steady growth, Babtec continues to search for new employees. In 2015, the team will be reinforced in many areas. Since 2000, the company's headquarters has been in Wuppertal-Clausen; since 2006, the facilities have been expanded continually so that the employees at the headquarters alone are now working on a total area of 18,300 square feet.
The company celebrated its current success story with a large jubilee party on December 19. The two managers and owners, Michael Flunkert and Waios Kastanis, used it to thank their coworkers from all branch offices. Together with their partners as well as guests of honor, the celebrations lasted into the early morning hours at Barmer Bahnhof. Among the guests was also Marco Ebbinghaus, who was the first customer in 1994 to decide in favor of the Babtec software. Today, his Solingen company for surface finishing still relies on the innovative solutions from Wuppertal for its quality management.
