News that makes us very happy: we are investing in cooperation across national borders and expanding! With a developer office in Palma, Spain, a sixth branch now officially belongs to Babtec. The joy is not only great on our side – because we are already known to our newly acquired colleagues as a long-standing partner.
An International Step in the Development of the Company
After the steady growth in the past years, we are now taking another step in the company's development – and an international one at that. With the acquisition of the Spanish company BB Software Balear, we are expanding our competencies in software development across national borders and gaining 16 motivated colleagues for our team. In addition to the headquarters in Wuppertal and the offices in Villingen-Schwenningen, Dresden, Munich and Wels (AT), Palma is now the sixth Babtec branch.
Acquisition Follows Long-Standing Partnership
What is now official does not necessarily feel new to one or the other team member, because BB Software Balear has already been supporting the Babtec team in developing innovative solutions for computer-aided quality management since 2001. From now on, the Spanish company is called "Babtec Information Systems España s.l." and belongs to the German GmbH. The successful cooperation is thus to be continued even more closely in the future.
All Employees Are Retained
The Spanish team will be taken over completely and will be expanded considerably in the future. Our Managing Director Michael Flunkert has high expectations for the merger: "The Spanish market is strategically very promising for us and fits exactly into our growth strategy. But I also personally care a lot about the development of the Spanish team, with whom we have been working very successfully for over 20 years. Therefore, I am particularly pleased that the team of the former BB Software Balear is after all these years now part of our Babtec team."
On May 27, the merger was celebrated with all employees in Palma. The new Head of Software Development Salvador de la Rosa is also excited: "First of all, I must say that we are very proud to now be a part of Babtec. Although we have been cooperating with Babtec since 2001, we are very happy to work even closer with our German colleagues as Babtec España and to form a team. The merger gives our employees a further boost of motivation to take the next step forward with the software. For me personally, the new position as Head of Software Development means a new challenge and opportunity for which I am very grateful."
